OVERVIEW

What You’ll Learn in Alistair Crooks’s Discretionary Analysis Framework Masterclass

‍

This free masterclass is Alistair Crooks’s complete discretionary trading playbook, built and refined across 23 years of trading and 18 years of coaching. Ali teaches a methodology built on separating discretion from strategy, because if you can measure it you can manage it. You’ll learn how to map any chart using his core toolkit (support and resistance zones, trend lines, moving averages, and multi-timeframe analysis), classify every market into the three tradeable conditions (with the trend, against the trend, trend line break), and build a watchlist that filters down to only the markets actually worth trading.

‍

Ali then teaches his two swing strategies (SMBO: Swing Momentum Breakout, and SRP: Swing Reversal Pullback) with clear entry criteria, stop placement, and 2-to-1 targets, how to adapt the same framework to day trading on lower timeframes using the 15 EMA pullback and ATR-based stops, and the testing, journaling, and risk management disciplines (1% swing, 0.5% day trading minimum) that turn the system into a measurable, repeatable process.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Discretionary Analysis Framework Masterclass about?

A free 11-lesson series with Alistair Crooks covering his complete discretionary trading playbook. It covers the framework, the three tradeable market conditions, how to structure a watchlist, his SMBO and SRP swing strategies, day trading adaptation, and the testing, journaling, and risk management disciplines.

‍

Who is Alistair Crooks?

Alistair “Ali” Crooks is a professional trader, FCA-authorised money manager, and trading educator with 23 years of live trading experience. He is the founder of Traders Support Club and a Professional Money Manager at London & Eastern LLP (FRN 534484).

‍

What is forex?

Forex (foreign exchange) is the global market for trading currencies, where one currency is quoted against another in pairs like EUR/USD, GBP/USD, or USD/JPY. It’s the largest and most liquid market in the world, trading more than $7 trillion a day across the London, New York, Tokyo, and Sydney sessions, 24 hours a day Monday through Friday. Charlie trades it as a swing trader, with about 80 percent of his trades in the euro/dollar, using higher-timeframe context to time entries.

What are futures?

Futures are standardized contracts that bind a buyer and seller to transact a specific asset at a set price on a future date. They were originally created in 1848 at the Chicago Board of Trade to let farmers lock in prices for their crops, and today they’re used to trade everything from stock indexes (S&P 500, Nasdaq) to commodities (oil, gold) and currencies. Futures trade on centralized exchanges like the CME, with built-in leverage, 24/6 hours, no pattern day trader rule, and favorable 60/40 tax treatment.

‍

What are SMBO and SRP?

SMBO stands for Swing Momentum Breakout and SRP stands for Swing Reversal Pullback. These are Ali’s two core swing trading strategies, taught with specific entry criteria, stop placement, and 2-to-1 targets.

‍

What’s the difference between discretion and strategy in Ali’s framework?

Discretion is the analysis phase (classifying what condition the market is in using a core toolkit). Strategy is the mechanical entry component. Ali teaches you to separate the two so you can measure and manage each one independently.

‍

What risk management does Ali teach?

1% minimum per trade on swing setups, 0.5% minimum per trade on day trading setups. He stresses these are minimums you can go lower from, not targets to size up to.

‍
